Have you been letting your age influence your dreams of going back to school?
It’s true that a lot of information about college is targeted to younger students, especially those who have just graduated from high school.
If you’re more than a few years past that milestone, this information can make the thought of going to college daunting.
But the fear that you are too old to pursue your dream is nothing more than an indication that you are operating under a belief system that is no longer serving you.
It’s what I call a self-limiting belief, and if it is in conflict with a dream that is coming from your heart, then this belief is probably coming from a block in your body’s energy system.
The sooner you remove this block, the clearer you will become about whether going back to college is right for you.
Here’s a way that you can use EFT to help you overcome your fear that you are too old to enroll in college.
An EFT tapping script to try
Karate Chop point (3 times): Even though I’m too old to go to college, I deeply and completely accept myself.
Eyebrow: I’m too old to go to college.
Side of Eye: I’m too old.
Under eye: I’ll be the oldest person in all of my classes.
Under nose: I might even be older than some of my professors.
Chin: No one will ever want to talk to me, because I’m too old.
Collarbone: I’ll never feel comfortable in college, because I’m too old.
Under arm: I probably won’t even have enough energy to handle the workload.
Top of head: I’m just too old to go to college.
Once you’ve completed this tapping sequence, check in with yourself to see if you still feel too old. If so, try tapping through the sequence again.
Once you are completely ambivalent about your age, try to think of other reasons you have for being afraid of pursuing your dream of going to college. Try tapping through those as well.
Then leave a comment below to share how tapping on your age impacts your decision to return to college.
